Non-contact Hall Magnetic Sensor proximity switch produces a digital output. The output switches between logic low (operate point) and logic high (release point) with presence and absence of a magnet as a target. The difference between the magnetic operate and release points is called the hysteresis of the device. The built-in hysteresis circuitry allows clean switching of the output even in the presence of external mechanical vibration and electrical noise.

Opto-electronics visible light sensors- ECR-501, ECG-501, ECU-501, ERA-101 are specifically designed to sense only the desired colour amongst others in the background. Further the function of its sensors should not be affected by normal daylight. Mark sensing is the most common requirement utilized in Packaging industry. To sense a Colour Mark Sensor in a background of contrast colour or different colour, ECG-501, ECR-501 and ECU-501 are the most commonly used. To choose a mark with only slight contrast background is achieved by special sensors. Besides on-line sensing of objects in packaging industry, these colour sensors are also supplied for identifying and sorting colours of bigger objects in a production line. Teach-button method is used for this purpose. A robust edge guide sensor with analog output ERA-101 is used in feedback loop to control the straight flow of web on a machine. It has a visible light spot to facilitate correct installation.

Proximity Sensors convert information on the movement or presence of an object into an electrical signal. Proximity Sensors detect an object without touching it, and they therefore do not cause abrasion or damage to the object.

For non-contact detection of metallic targets at ranges generally under 50 mm (2 inches). Inductive proximity sensors emit an alternating electro-magnetic sensing field. When a metal target enters the sensing field, eddy currents are induced in the target, reducing the signal amplitude and triggering a change of state at the sensor output. Advantages of Inductive Sensor proximity sensors include insensitivity to water, oil, dirt, non-metallic particles, target color or target surface finish and the ability to withstand high shock and vibration environments.
